CHICAGO — Ok, August. You're looking pretty good so far. Here are some ways to enjoy these summer days.
1. Hang Out With the 5-0: Tuesday is National Night Out, so spend the evening with your neighbors and the police that protect your ‘hood. There will be face painting, barbecue, line dancing and a movie at Weiss Plaza, 4800 N. Sheridan Rd. for the 20th and 19th District. The event runs from 4-7 p.m. “Pocahontas” will begin at dusk at 4921 N. Marine Dr. For a full list of National Night Out events, click here.
2. Enjoy Live Music, Balkan Burgers in the Polish Triangle: Take the Blue Line home? Get off at Division and enjoy the latest "Tuesdays on the Triangle." There is also food from Cevapcici and Sweet Cakes Bakery. Runs from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Polish Triangle, the intersection of Ashland, Milwaukee, and Division. Free.
3. Turn off Cell Phone, Carve Out an Om-Hour: Led by a rotating group of instructors from area yoga studios, Wicker Park’s namesake park offers a free outdoor yoga class sponsored by Lululemon in partnership with the park's advisory council and Chicago Park District. Bring a mat or towel and water bottle. 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., located at 1425 N. Damen Ave. on the south side of the park near the Schiller Street Entrance.
4. Soul Dance in the Park: Part of the 48th Ward’s “Summer Nights” programming, there will be urban soul line dancing at the Margate Park Fieldhouse tonight. 4129 N. Marine, 6:30-7:30 p.m., $5.
5. Watch "Drumline" in Millennium Park: There are only five more chances to watch a movie in Millennium Park this summer. Get on it, people!
