Sample Dishes, Watch Fireworks on Taste of Chinese Cuisine Cruise

CHINATOWN — Neighborhood folks will soon be able to enjoy a sampling of local cuisine while watching fireworks from a cruise ship in Lake Michigan.

Sponsored by the Chicago Chinatown Chamber of Commerce, The Taste of Chinese Cuisine Wendella Boat Cruise will sail from Ping Tom Memorial Park Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The cruise will include a guided — and well-fed — tour of the Chicago River before hitting the lake.

While on the cruise, passengers will be able to sample dishes from several Chinatown restaurants, including: Phoenix Restaurant, Lao Sze Chuan, Emperor’s Choice, Three Happiness, Phoenix Bean and Chiu Quon Bakery.

Ticket cost $100 for members of the Chinatown Chamber of Commerce and $125 for non-members. You can buy tickets here.

Passengers board at 6:30 p.m. and depart at 7 p.m. from 300 W. 19th St. The cruise will end at 10 p.m. with a front-row view of Navy Pier’s fireworks show.
