CHICAGO — "Check, Please!" host Catherine De Orio will be serving as emcee for Aug. 22's Fried Chicken & Champagne Fest.

The debut event features top Chicago chefs serving their favorite take on fried chicken and pairing the bird with champagne from Pops for Champagne proprietor Craig Cooper.

The event will take place Kendall College's Skyline Room, 900 N. North Branch St. on Goose Island, from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Tickets are $75 and $150.

Proceeds benefit the Kendall College Trust, a not-for-profit organizations that raises scholarship funds for potential Kendall College culinary and hospitality students. De Orio, of West Loop, is the executive director of the Kendall College Trust.

"I'm so excited to have such an amazing group of chefs and industry professionals (including prestigious Kendall alums Christine Cikowski, Josh Kulp from Honey Butter Fried Chicken and Beverly Kim from Parachute) come out and support Kendall College Trust as we pursue our mission to raise scholarship funds for culinary and hospitality students with financial need at Kendall College," De Orio said in an email. "And there's no better way to do it than following it with a champagne toast and some fried chicken in hand."
