Washington Park Shooting Kills Man, Police Say

CHICAGO — A man was shot and killed while driving in Washington Park late Tuesday, police said.

A 36-year-old man was driving in the 5900 block of South State Street in Washington Park at 9:40 p.m. when a man got out of a red sedan and fired at the victim, said Officer Jose Estrada, Chicago Police spokesman. The victim was shot in his head and was pronounced dead at the scene, Estrada said.

Cass L. Singleton, of the 5000 block of South Aberdeen Street in Back of the Yards, was pronounced dead at 9:54 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Estrada said.
