NORTH CENTER — Step off the Brown Line at the Irving Park stop Monday night, head south to Filbert Playlot and find yourself in the middle of the Andes during a musical performance by the group Sisai.

Band members, who hail from Ecuador, will take audience members on a musical journey through South America's Andean region, explaining its indigenous culture and people along the way.

The concert begins at 5:45 p.m., 1822 W. Larchmont Ave.

The group has partnered with the art advocacy group Urban Gateways.

"Sisai proudly conveys its unique, indigenous culture through song, legend, language, and glimpses into Andean life," according to a description on the Gateways site.

Sisai invites the audience "to participate by clapping out the rhythm of a sanjuanito, joining in a dance to celebrate the harvest, and trying traditional Andean percussion and wind instruments."
