CHICAGO — A private taxi carrying six passengers crashed into a police car Thursday night in Wrigleyville, police said.

Around 10:15 p.m., a Dodge caravan heading westbound in the 1100 block of West Addison Street crashed into an eastbound squad car when the driver attempted to turn left onto Clark Street without yielding, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

An officer was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Four of the passengers were taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center and two were taken to Thorek Hospital, but all of them were released, Pacheco said.

The 23-year-old driver refused medical attention at the scene and was ticketed for failure to yield right of way and damage to public property, Pacheco said.
