BRIDGEPORT — Neighborhood folks with any concerns about the recently opened Chicago Helicopter Experience on the Chicago River will soon have a chance to share them with the man behind the business.
Trevor Heffernan, the company’s founder and executive director, will host a community forum at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the heliport, 2420 S. Halsted St.
The forum will allow locals to meet with the staff behind the operation, tour the heliport and "if you have questions, ask them," Heffernan said.
In 2014, when Heffernan introduced the plan to build the heliport in Bridgeport, residents met him with mixed reactions. Locals were concerned about helicopter noises and safety.
Now that the heliport has open, it seems those concerns have subsided.
Even so, Heffernan said he wants to give the community a chance to get to know his staff and share their opinions.
