CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was killed in an Austin shooting late Wednesday, police said.

Around 11:50 p.m., the man got into a fight with another man in the 1300 block of North Lockwood Avenue. During the fight, the other man pulled a gun and opened fire striking him multiple times, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Dimarkiss Scott, who lived on the same block as the shooting, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:17 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Police originally said he was transported to a hospital first.

No one is in custody for the shooting.

Also Wednesday, a 21-year-old man was killed in Austin around 7:50 p.m., police said.
