CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was fatally shot in Little Village early Monday, police said.

Around 4:30 a.m., the man was a passenger in a car travelling through the 2400 block of South Sawyer Avenue when someone opened fire, striking him in his chest, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The driver of the car took the man to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, but he was later pronounced dead, Estrada said.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Estrada said.
