CHICAGO — The Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum will extend its hours and offer free admission to Illinois residents on July 16.

The museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, will highlight insects for the event as part of its theme, "Bugs on the Move." Visitors will learn about bugs and how they move via live insects and robots.

The museum has three temporary exhibits: "BUGS: Outside the Box," "The Secrets of Bees" and "A Delicate Majesty: the Insect Art of Alix Lukas."

While the museum typically closes at 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, exhibits like the Judy Istock Butterfly Haven will be open until 7 p.m. for this special event, the museum said.
