LINCOLN SQUARE — Waldo is leaping off the page and into the shops of Lincoln Square during the month of July.

As part of a scavenger hunt sponsored by the Book Cellar, images of the bespectacled Waldo are hiding in more than a dozen neighborhood stores. Kids who find at least 10 of the figures will be entered in a drawing for a set of "Where's Waldo?" books and other prizes.

Here's how it works: Kids pick up their Waldo passport at the Book Cellar, 4736-38 N. Lincoln Ave. Pop into any of the 15 participating business listed on the passport (they're also sporting decals on their storefronts) and look for Waldo. Once the stripe-shirted character has been found, report his location to the shopkeeper and collect a passport signature or stamp from the store.

Return the passport to the Book Cellar when 10 signatures/stamps have been gathered — the passport will double as an entry in the final prize drawing.

The monthlong hunt for Waldo will culminate in a party at the Book Cellar at 4 p.m. on July 31.
