CHICAGO — Fans filled Lincoln Park on Tuesday night to watch the United States beat Germany 2-0 in a Women's World Cup semifinal in Montreal.
The Americans will play either Japan or England in Sunday's finals in Vancouver at 6 p.m. (Fox).
Carli Lloyd scored on a penalty kick to give the Americans a 1-0 lead. Kelley O'Hara added another second-half goal.
Earlier in the second half, Germany missed a penalty kick.
U.S. Soccer, the national governing body for soccer, hosted the official viewing party for Tuesday's matchup with Germany in Lincoln Park.
The organization late Tuesday revealed it also will host a viewing party for Sunday's final, beginning at 3 p.m. The "FanHQ" event will take place near the intersection of Stockton Drive and LaSalle Drive, just south of the Lincoln Park Zoo.
FanHQ will include various fan-focused activities, while U.S. Soccer merchandise, along with food, soft drinks, beer and other beverages will be available for purchase.
