UNIVERSITY VILLAGE — More than 15,000 people are expected at the Old St. Pat's "World's Largest Block Party" on Saturday, which for the first time will be held in the UIC festival lot.

Young the Giant and Neon Trees will headline this year's event, staged at at the UIC festival lot on Morgan Street between Taylor Street and Roosevelt Road. The party was previously staged in front of Old St. Pat's Church in the West Loop.

Tickets, which are $40 in advance or $45 at the gate, are still for sale online. Three drink tickets are included in the ticket price.

VIP tickets are sold out.

Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and 7th Heaven is slated to take the stage at 5:45 p.m., followed by Neon Trees at 7:45 p.m. and Young the Giant at 9:30 p.m.

Shuttles will be available to take crowds to the entrance gate from Old St. Pat's at Adams and Desplaines streets in the West Loop. Shuttles will run from 5-8 p.m. Saturday.

Block party organizers decided to move the festival after one of the parking lots the church traditionally used to host the event was sold, according to Lisa Ripson, a block party spokeswoman. That land now will be redeveloped.

Proceeds from the party support Old St. Patrick's Church's social justice initiatives, outreach programs locally and abroad and strengthening the mission of the church.
