Police to Hold Outdoor Roll Call After Pair of Shootings in Irving Park

IRVING PARK — After a pair of recent shootings on a normally quiet block of Irving Park, the Albany Park Police District will hold an outdoor roll call Friday.

Residents are invited to join officers at 6 p.m. at Hamlin and Belle Plaine for the "positive loitering" event.

Just two weeks after a fatal Memorial Day shooting in the 4100 block of North Hamlin Avenue, shots were fired in the same block. A suspect in the second incident was immediately arrested and a weapon was recovered.

Both shootings were gang related, according to police.
