East Garfield Park Burglaries Lead to Police Warning

CHICAGO — Police issued a warning after a series of burglaries in East Garfield Park last week.

Around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, the burglar entered an apartment in the 3200 block of West Walnut Boulevard through a second-floor, back-porch window and took property, police said in a statement.

The following day, a burglar entered a second-floor window of an apartment in the 3200 block of West Warren Avenue between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. After taking property for the unit, the burglar then went to the first-floor apartment and kicked the front door down and took property from the apartment, police said.

Police are asking residents to "pay special attention to suspicious subjects loitering in the area."
