ROGERS PARK — The summer arts festival season kicks off June 21 with live performances sponsored by the Hello!Howard concert series and Peterson Gardens in Rogers Park.
Between 4-7 p.m., residents can come out to the corner of Howard Street and Ashland Avenue to enjoy an open mic and the sounds of local musicians during a "a celebration of peace, food, and connection," according to the event's detail page.
Artists set to perform include:
- 4-4:30 p.m.—Roots of Rhythm with community drum circle
- 4:35-5:15 p.m.—Tim Williams of Urban Sound Studio
- 5:20-6 p.m.—Medicine Bear and the Herbal Remedies
- 6-7:30 p.m.—Open mic
