DOWNTOWN — Days after clinching their third Stanley Cup in six seasons, the Chicago Blackhawks are poised to defeat lightning again Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Romeoville said Thursday morning that the worst of Thursday's storm had passed Downtown by 8:50 a.m.

So Blackhawks fans can lose the ponchos and slip away from under the viaducts in time for the team's championship parade, which will step off at 10 a.m.

"There's a chance for more [rain] later, but nothing on the radar," a spokeswoman for the National Weather Service said.

Fans flooded the Loop early Thursday ahead of the victory parade and rally, which will march from the United Center to Solider Field, capped by a celebration at the stadium. Free tickets to the rally sold out in minutes Wednesday, and were later being resold for $100 per ticket online.
