CHICAGO — A man was fatally stabbed in Uptown late Sunday in what Ald. James Cappleman said was a fight over selling socks.

Around 9:46 p.m., two men got into an argument in the 4400 block of North Broadway when one of the men, 58, stabbed the other in his neck, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man, whose age was unavailable, was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead, Estrada said.

The 58-year-old man is in custody, but no charges have been filed, Estrada said.

Cappleman (46th) Tweeted that the argument was over selling socks Sunday night.
