MORGAN PARK — Emergency crews had to rescue the driver of an overturned SUV on Friday morning in Morgan Park, authorities said.

Despite the grisly scene, no one was seriously injured according to a police officer who was helping to direct traffic around a tow truck and cleaning up the debris.

A woman was alone in the SUV, and paramedics took her to the hospital after the accident. But it appeared she merely suffered a broken hand or finger, the officer said.

From the wreckage, it appeared the SUV struck the curb and flipped over a large flower pot. The SUV was wedged on the sidewalk, leaning on a tree outside Cullinan's Stadium Club at 11610 S Western Ave. in Morgan Park.

The accident happened sometime around 9 a.m., according to reports on social media.
