CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man was killed during a shooting Thursday night in McKinley Park, police said.

Around 3:50 p.m., the man was walking in the 3500 block of South Western Avenue when a man got out of a car, walked up and opened fire, striking him in his neck and head, according to Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

After the shooting, the shooter got back into the car and drove eastbound on 35th Street. The 26-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Sedevic said.
