THE LOOP — Here's one way to celebrate a playoff win.

Three unidentified males smashed the front door of a Lids store at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel, 125 S. State St., at about 4 a.m. Thursday and stole between 40 and 49 Blackhawks jerseys, police and a store representative said.

The burglars left a hammer at the scene, said the store employee, who declined to give his name. The jerseys were each priced at $170, the employee said, so the stolen merchandise is valued between $6,800 and $8,330.

Chicago Police spokeswoman Officer Janel Sedevic said police are investigating, but no suspects were in custody as of Thursday afternoon.

The burglary was first reported by the Sun-Times.
