Man Stabbed Roommate in Hermosa, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 23-year-old man was stabbed by his roommate in Hermosa Sunday night, police said.

Around 11:50 p.m., the 23-year-old was stabbed in his stomach with a kitchen knife by his roommate in their apartment in the 4000 block of West Palmer Street, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

After the stabbing, the 23-year-old man left the apartment and was seen by police officers stumbling around holding his stomach. He was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, Cooper said.

His 35-year-old roommate is in custody and charges are pending, Cooper said.
