WEST TOWN — A threat against Ogden International School's West Campus Friday was deemed "not credible" by police around 3 p.m., according to an e-mail sent to Ogden parents by Interim Principal Karen Valentine.
Extra police were on site Friday morning in response to the threat made against the Downtown school.
A police spokeswoman said the department was notified of the threat at 2:30 a.m. Friday. No related injuries were reported Friday, and the nature or origin of the threat was not disclosed.
The spokeswoman said the threat came from someone unaffiliated with the school, which serves grades 6-12 at 1250 W. Erie St.
"CPD was present at dropoff this morning and are continuing to investigate the validity of the third-party threat," the spokeswoman said.
Valentine sent an e-mail to parents Friday morning saying the school received the threat and was working closely with police and the Chicago Public Schools Office of Safety and Security "as a precaution."
Valentine did not immediately return messages seeking comment.
