THE LOOP — It turns out Chicago is one of the stars of new Netflix series "Sense8" — well, at least in the first episode.

"Sense8," a sci-fi drama from Andy and Lana Wachowski of "Matrix" fame, follows eight people who live across the world but share a strange, telepathic connection. One of those eight — who are called Sensates — is Chicago cop Bill Gorski (played by Brian J. Smith).

The first episode of the series, "Limbic Resonance," focuses on Gorski and offers quite a few shots of Chicago and landmarks like the Bean (Cloud Gate), Wrigley Field and Superdawg. The series shot in the city last summer.

While future episodes will focus on different Sensates and their corners of the world, you'll be able to see Chicago in the opening credits of each episode and Gorski will appear again.

"Sense8" premiered Friday. All episodes are available at Netflix.
