Man Found Dead in Rogers Park Home Shot Himself, Autopsy Shows

CHICAGO — One of the men found dead in a home Wednesday afternoon in Rogers Park shot himself, according to an autopsy report released Thursday.

Around 4:50 p.m., the two men, ages 52 and 45, were found in the home in the 1500 block of West Chase Avenue, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Both men were dead, and one had been shot in his head, Estrada said.

The 52-year-old was identified as Michael Bowers, of the 1500 block of West Chase Avenue. He was pronounced dead at 5:06 p.m., by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

According to an autopsy report, Bowers died from a gunshot t his head, and his death was ruled a suicide, the Medical Examiner's office said.

Authorities have not released the identity of the 45-year-old

The incident appears to be domestic-related, police said.
