Woman Shot While Driving on 95th Street in Washington Heights, Police Say

CHICAGO — A 41-year-old woman was shot while driving her car on 95th Street in Washington Heights Tuesday morning, police said..

Initial reports said the woman was shot while driving around 9:15 a.m. near 95th Street and Hamilton Avenue in Beverly, but police later said the shooting actually took place as the woman drove on 95th Street near Justine Street in Washington Heights, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Estrada said the woman then drove to near 95th and Hamilton and called for help.

The woman was taken to Christ Hospital, where her condition was stabilized, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

No one is in custody for the incident.
