CHICAGO — A 25-year-old man was critically wounded in a drive-by shooting in Chatham Sunday afternoon, police said.

The Chatham shooting brings the weekend totals to three people dead, and at least 22 wounded in violence across the city.

Around 12:15 p.m., a man was walking outside in the 8700 block of South Wabash Avenue when a white van pulled up and someone inside fired shots, striking the man three times in his torso, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The 25-year-old was taken to John H. Stroger Hospital where he was listed in critical condition, Cooper said.
