CANARYVILLE — Two people are hospitalized, one in critical condition, after a stabbing in a Canaryville park Saturday morning, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

Around 3:17 a.m. Saturday, a man, 25, and woman, 20, were walking near the 700 block of West 41st Street, close to Taylor Lauridsen Park, when they were confronted by a group of people, Cooper said.

A physical altercation ensued, and eventually one of the people in the group pulled out a knife and began to stab the couple.

Each victim suffered multiple stab wounds, according to Cooper. The man was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition and the woman, also taken to Stroger, was listed in fair condition.

No one is in custody for the stabbings.
