CHICAGO — Mayor Rahm Emanuel said city graffiti-removal crews are getting the job done faster.

Graffiti reported to the city is now getting removed within five days or less, according to the mayor's office.

In addition, the Department of Streets and Sanitation has eliminated a backlog of graffiti-removal requests, which is allowing crews to focus on removing new graffiti.

In 2014, the city allocated an additional $1 million for graffiti removal, which added three more graffiti-removal crews and two new chemical removal trucks.
