Bronzeville Shooting Victim Identified

CHICAGO — A 19-year-old man was fatally shot Monday night in Bronzeville.

Around 5:25 p.m., the man was driving in the first block of East 36th Place when someone pulled alongside him in a black car and opened fire, striking him in the back, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

The man was driven to Stroger Hospital by family and was listed in critical condition. He was later pronounced dead, Cooper said.

The man was identified as Robert Richmond, of the 6100 block of South King Drive. He was pronounced dead at 7:48 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one is in custody for the shooting, Cooper said.
