CHICAGO — A 17-year-old was fatally shot in Austin Monday night has been identified.
Ronnie Shaw, of the 4900 block of West Ferdinand Street was pronounced dead at 8:38 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
Around 7:50 p.m., officers heard shots and found the teen unresponsive in the street in the 4900 block of West Erie Street, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
Shaw, who was struck in the back and leg, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Cooper said.
No one is in custody for the shooting.
