CHICAGO — If we can just get through some midday showers, we should be able to enjoy a pretty nice Memorial Day after all, forecasters said.
Until about 1 p.m. Monday, we can expect "off-and-on showers with brief to moderate rain," according to Stephen Rodriguez, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service.
The rain will come with high winds — up to about 40 mph, Rodriguez said.
After that, "it looks to me more dry," but more rain and thunderstorms are possible overnight and Tuesday morning, Rodriguez said.
Once the rain subsides Monday afternoon, we can expect sunny weather with a high in the low 80s, Rodriguez said.
