CHICAGO — Two people were shot on the South Side Thursday afternoon.

Most recently, a 27-year-old man was shot in Englewood. Around 5:30 p.m., the man was standing in the 6900 block of South Michigan Avenue when a man opened fire, striking him in both of his legs, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The man was taken to Christ Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Sweeney said. Police said no further information was immediately available.

Around 2:30 p.m., an 18-year-old man was shot while walking in the 7800 block of South Michigan Avenue in Grand Crossing when a man exited a yard and opened fire, Sweeney said.

The man was stuck in his neck and taken to Stroger Hospital, where his condition stabilized, Sweeney said. Police said no further information was immediately available.

No one is in custody for either shooting.
