NORWOOD PARK — A number of classes and activities for seniors are scheduled for June at Mather's More Than a Cafe.

In addition to breakfast, lunch and carryout meals, Mather's offers adults older than 50 educational classes, fitness classes, health screenings, consumer seminars, workshops and special events and day trips. The cafe is located at 7134 W. Higgins Ave.

Events scheduled for June include:

• Haunted History of Chicago: Author and storyteller Amelia Cotter will detail the history of ghosts in Chicago and talk about some of its most haunted places at 1 p.m. June 4. Cotter, who has written two books about ghosts, will discuss her experiences investigating haunted private homes and cemeteries around Chicago and her encounters with the paranormal. A donation of $5 is suggested. Registration is required.

• Dinner Theater: Jimmy Niteclub, a Mather’s favorite, will sing classics from the songbooks of Neil Sedaka, Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin. Dinner is scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m., followed by the show at 5:30 p.m. The meal is $11.50, and a donation of $8 is suggested for the entertainment. Registration is required.

• The Greatest World Traveler: After retiring in his fifties, Gunther Holtorf took a trip to Africa and then decided to travel around the world for the next 23 years. Considered the most traveled person in human history, Holtorf will narrate a slideshow of his photographs that document his journey by phone from his small dairy farm in Germany at 1 p.m. June 25. This event is free.
