CHICAGO — Police are warning restaurant owners to take extra precaution after three restaurants were burglarized over the weekend.
From Saturday into Sunday morning, thieves hit a restaurant in the 3100 block of North Broadway in Lakeview. And Friday night into Saturday morning, thieves burglarized restaurants in the 2500 block of North Lincoln Avenue and the 2400 block of North Clark Street in Lincoln Park, police said.
During the Broadway incident, a 5-foot-6-inch black man in his 40s with a slim build was seen entering the restaurant. He was wearing a green shirt and carrying a toolbox, police said.
He fled in a white van and an accomplice fled in a blue or green van. Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call detectives at 312-744-8263.
