CTA Bus Stop Robberies in Garfield Park Lead to Police Warning

CHICAGO — Police are cautioning residents after two robberies at CTA bus stops in Garfield Park.

In both incidents, the victims were standing at a CTA bus stop when a gray minivan pulled up and the robbers got out, and used force to take property from the victims. The robbers took a watch, a purse and money, police said in a statement.

The most recent incident occurred Saturday at 5:45 a.m. in the 3800 block of West Jackson Boulevard. The other incident occurred on May 11 at 3:50 p.m. in the 3800 block of West Madison Street, police said.

The robbers are described as two black men with dreadlocks between the ages of 20-24. Both men are around 5-foot-10 and weigh about 180 pounds. Another robber was described as a black woman with blond hair between 18 and 22 years old, around 5-foot-4 and 120 pounds.
