Bulls Fashion 'A New Global Sensation' Says Vogue

By DNAinfo Staff | May 13, 2015 11:00am | Updated on May 13, 2015 11:01am

CHICAGO — Chicago Bulls jersey-inspired fashions are "a new global street style sensation," declares Vogue magazine.

And not just for guys loving the play of Derrick Rose or Joakim Noah.

Fashion writer Monica Kim says retro-inspired sportswear is hot this year and "one piece has emerged as the ultimate athletic throwback: the Chicago Bulls jersey."

Bulls jersey-influenced clothing has "popped up on the backs of style setters from Paris to Hong Kong," she writes.

Michael Jordan is the spark but the Bulls trend began two years ago in Los Angeles with Miley Cyrus, spread to London "and now can be spotted on the narrow back streets of Harajuku."

As far as regular jersey sales go, the NBA says LeBron James is number one but the Bulls team merchandise has reclaimed "the top spot for best-selling team merchandise for the first time since the end of the 2011-2012 season."

Vogue has a photo gallery here. But we've been able to spot these, too:
