Police Warn of Armed Robberies in Rogers Park

CHICAGO — Police are warning Rogers Park residents to take extra precaution around the neighborhood after two armed robberies in the neighborhood earlier this month.

During the incidents, which occurred on May 6, one or two men armed with a silver handgun approached the victims and demanded everything they had. During one incident, the thieves took wallets and phones and in the other incident they took the victim's car, police said.

The first incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of West Sheridan Road. The second incident occurred around 3:35 a.m. in the 2100 block of West Pratt Boulevard, police said.

The thieves were wearing dark jackets or hoodies, cargo pants and a baseball hat, police said.
