Ex-Morgan Park, N. Illinois Star Da'Ron Brown Drafted By Kansas City Chiefs

CHICAGO — Former Morgan Park High School and Northern Illinois star Da'Ron Brown was drafted in the seventh round by the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday.

Brown, who was team captain and MVP his final two years at Morgan Park, was the 233rd overall selection.

In 2014, Brown had a team-high 64 yards, 1,003 receiving yards and six touchdowns.

He was an all-state quarterback at Morgan Park before transitioning to wide receiver at NIU. He also led the Huskies with 752 yards and nine touchdowns on 46 receptions in 2013.

The Chiefs were 9-7 last season, finishing second in the AFC West.
