NORTH CENTER — J.J. Abrams' trailer for "The Force Awakens" has members of "Star Wars" Nation counting down the days to the film's December opening.

In the meantime, fans can get a quick fix of their favorite galaxy from far, far away in EDGE Theatre's production of "MacSith," a mash-up of Macbeth and "Star Wars."

The 70-minute show is not a parody or farce, but takes Shakespeare's plot and sets it in George Lucas' universe, according to EDGE.

The Chicago Reader called EDGE's 2013 mounting of "MacSith" a "great visual feast."

RedEye's review declared that the production "succeeds admirably in making Shakespeare’s play work as well with light sabers and Mandalorian bounty hunters as any traditional telling has."

Previews start Thursday and the play runs through May 24 at Pendulum Theater Space, 1803 W. Byron St. Tickets can be purchased online and cost $15 during previews and $18 after May 8.
