Downtown Sound 2015 Lineup Features More Electronic and World Music Artists

DOWNTOWN — The popular Downtown Sound evening music series will be adding more contemporary and electronic artists, along with world music artists, to its lineup of indie, pop and rock veterans when it kicks off in June at Millennium Park.

Performers will take the stage at Pritzker Pavilion at 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays from June 1-July 23, except where noted.

A sampling of what you might hear this year at Downtown Sound:

June 11: The London Souls and Eggnoise

June 22: Active Child and Matt Ulrey's In the Ivory featuring eighth blackbird

June 25: Snarky Puppy and Third Coast Production & Friends Celebrate Terry Riley's "In C"

June 29: Poi Dog Pondering and Caroline Smith

July 2: Antibalas and Sonny Knight and The Lakers

July 6: King Sunny Ade and Mathew Tembo

July 9: Judah & the Lion (8 p.m.)

July 13: Matthew Sweet and In Tall Buildings

July 16: Ondatropica and Helado Negro

July 20: Murder by Death and Banditos

July 23: Los Cojolites and David Wax Museum
