CHICAGO — Lane closures on the Eisenhower Expressway will continue this week as crews continue construction on the Jane Byrne Interchange.

Beginning late Wednesday and continuing until Friday morning, the Illinois Department of Transportation will close lanes to install beams over the CTA train lines on the Halsted Street bridge.

Starting at 11 p.m. Wednesday, the left lane of eastbound and westbound traffic along the Eisenhower from Morgan Street to the former U.S. Post Office will close. From 12-5 a.m., two left lanes of westbound traffic will be closed. Westbound Eisenhower traffic will be detoured to the Kennedy Expy. during that time, IDOT said.

The lanes will be reopened each day at 5 a.m. Additional closures are expected until May 12, IDOT said.

The Jane Byrne Interchange project is expected to be completed by summer 2018.
