CHICAGO — Several men are being questioned after shots were fired at an off-duty officer on the South Side Friday afternoon.
Around 4:15 p.m., the officer was on the 7600 block of South Chicago Avenue when shots were fired at him, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.
At least two bullets hit the officer's vehicle in the front windshield and one hit the passenger side door, as seen in photos taken at the scene. (See slideshow at right.)
The officer did not return fire. Detectives are questioning several suspects, but no one is in custody, Lemmon said.
Officers did not believe the shooting was related to the shots fired at an off-duty officer Thursday in West Town.
