COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A 15-year-old boy sexually assaulted and robbed a 41-year-old woman on a Blue Line train Monday, then used the money to buy candy and Jordan jumpsuits, prosecutors said.

On Wednesday, after police released CTA surveillance video of Deshawn Isabelle, his mother recognized him and brought him into the Maywood police station, who turned him over to the Chicago Police, prosecutors said.

Isabelle was charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault and robbery and ordered held on $1 million bail.

Josh McGhee says Isabelle's mother was visibly shaken in court:

Around 3:10 p.m. Monday, Isabelle got on a Blue Line train at the Forest Park station and wandered around the train, touching and kicking windows, Assistant State's Attorney Joe DiBella said in bond court Thursday.

A short time later, a 41-year-old woman entered the train and sat two seats in front of him. They were the only two people on the train, DiBella said.

Isabelle walked up behind the woman and began punching her in the head before dragging her to the floor by her hair. The woman's head hit the floor and she went into the fetal position as Isabelle continued to punch her in the head before sexually assaulting her and fondling her, DiBella said.

Then Isabelle dragged the woman by her hair to a partially enclosed portion of the train car where he demanded money as he continued to punch and beat her, DiBella said.

Isabelle took money from the woman's purse — about $2,000 that the woman planned to wire to family in Thailand — and picked up the woman's iPhone from the ground. He then told the woman to be quiet before getting off at the Cicero stop, DiBella said.

After he left, the woman pushed the emergency button and CTA workers came to help her, DiBella said.

Isabella took the next train in the opposite direction and got off at the Austin station, where he threw the woman's phone into a puddle near Austin Avenue and Jackson Street, DiBella said.

The woman was taken to an area hospital and treated for a concussion, cuts and bruises. As of Wednesday she was still recovering from the concussion and receiving medical attention, DiBella said.

Isabelle allegedly admitted to detectives that he assaulted the woman and told them he used the money for candy and Jordan jumpsuits. He said he gave some of the money to his friends, DiBella said.
