NORTH LAWNDALE — A 21-year-old man was fatally shot in North Lawndale Tuesday afternoon, police said. He was identified as Jaquille Reems, of the 100 block of North Lamone Avenue, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

The shooting occurred in the 3400 block of West Ogden Avenue about 1:07 p.m., according to CPD police spokesman Veejay Zala.

Reems was shot in the torso while inside Windy City Auto, a car detailing business at 3451 W. Ogden Ave., Officer Thomas Sweeney said. He was later taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said, where he ultimately died of his wounds.

Police said Reems was a documented gang member and had been a convicted felon.

In a separate shooting at around 2:25 p.m. Tuesday, a 17-year-old male was shot in the left arm and right leg in the 1500 block of Ridgeway Avenue in North Lawndale.

The teen was transported to Stroger Hospital. Further details were not immediately available.
