GRANT PARK — "American Idol" winner Phillip Phillips will headline a free concert closing the upcoming NFL draft in Chicago.

The NFL said Tuesday that the 23-year-old singer/songwriter will hit the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday, May 2, in Grant Park. Singer Marc Scibilia and Chicago band JC Brooks and the Uptown Sound will open for Phillips, with the concert scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

The concert is the final event in the weekend-long "Draft Town" festivities in Grant Park during the player draft.

The draft begins Thursday, April 30, with preparations already underway. Some Downtown streets will be closed beginning Tuesday night to make way for the three-day event.
