CHICAGO — A 59-year-old woman has died after her car was struck by another near her home in the Little Italy and UIC area Monday night.

Around 8:20 p.m., the woman was driving a Toyota station wagon northbound on Morgan Street when it was struck by a Ford driving eastbound on 16th Street, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The woman was pulled from the car by emergency crews and pronounced dead at the scene, Alfaro said.

She was identified as Linda Forbes, of the 900 block of West 16th Street. She was pronounced dead at 9:24 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Two men were seen fleeing the scene and no one is in custody as the Major Accidents Unit is investigating, police said.

No one else was injured in the accident.
