By Alisa Hauser | April 9, 2015 10:30am

WICKER PARK —  Looking for things to do with your kids over the last weekend of spring break before Chicago Public Schools reopen?

Sweet Cakes, a Noble Square bakery across from the CTA Division Blue Line "L" stop, has spots open in a cookie and cupcake decorating class.

Set for 2-5 p.m. Friday, children ages 4-10 years will decorate mini cupcakes and cookies with a variety of frostings and sprinkles at Sweet Cakes, 1223 N. Milwaukee Ave.

The cost is $10 per child; reservations are required by calling 773-772-5771.

From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, volunteers from the Wicker Park Advisory Council will host an Earth Day cleanup event in the neighborhood's namesake park, 1425 N. Damen Ave.

Everyone is invited to mulch trees, clean the dog park, rake, pick up trash and clean graffiti.

According to an email from the group's secretary Doug Wood, volunteers can "sweep like Charles Wicker."

Charles Wicker, the park's founder, is memorialized in a bronze statue, where he holds a straw broom, a nod to a phrase the real estate developer was known for saying, "If there is something to be done, then do it."

Email Wood to reserve your spot at the free event.
