Man Dies After Chatham Shooting, Officials Say

CHICAGO — A man who was gravely wounded in a shooting last month in Chatham died, officials said.

On March 28 at 9:15 a.m., officers responded to shots fired in the 8800 block of South Cottage Grove and found a 26-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his head, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

He was taken to Northwestern Hospital where he was listed in grave condition and later pronounced dead, Lemmon said.

On Friday at 11:25 a.m., Quentin A. Thompson, 27, of the 9200 block of South Kimbark Avenue was pronounced dead by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
