CHICAGO — A 21-year-old man was fatally shot in Austin Thursday night, police said.
Around 5:30 p.m., the man was standing on a porch in the 5200 block of West Quincy Street in Austin when a man exited a grey car and fatally shot the man in his chest, said Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The man was pronounced dead upon police arrival. The shooter fled eastbound, Zala said.
The man was identified as Antoine Coney, 21, of the 5200 block of West Quincy Street, by the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.
No one is in custody for the shooting.
